Our commitment to building quality homes is best illustrated through our commitment to our employees. We typically have between 12-15 employees and our average employee has been with us for over 12 years. That says a great deal about how we operate our small, family-owned business. Every member of our talented crew brings their own specialty to bear on each of our projects, giving every home we build a unique distinction from others. Our subcontractors are hand-picked, rigorously screened, and the best in their trade. Most have also worked with Chillcoots for many years and we consider them to be a valuable extension of our team.
MARK BJERKEN | OWNER
Years with Chillcoots: 23
Particular Skills: Learning the professional from the age of 19, Mark started with cabinetry. He knew then that he always wanted to do more. He built Chillcoots with the intent of having its distinction be both honesty and quality.
Hidden Talents: Mark is an avid outdoorsman, when he has the time. He loves spending time in Colorado and the west, and Florida with his family.
TONY HOWARD | PROJECT MANAGER
Years with Chillcoots: 17
Particular Skills: In Tony’s 20 years of building, he has been hands on and managed projects. He enjoys working directly with clients and bringing their dreams to reality. Just the kind of project manager you would want on your side.
Hidden Talents: Tony enjoys two of the best ways to play here in Grand County, golfing and biking.
MARK BROWN (AKA BROWNIE)
Years with Chillcoots: 17
Particular Skills: After so many years building, Brownie has done it all. If he had a choice of projects, he would rather do trim work.
Hidden Talents: In the fall season, you’ll find Brownie taking a break from building to be a professional hunting guide leading clients to find elk and deer.
SCOTT KNORR
Years with Chillcoots: 13
Particular Skills: Scott is another “Jack of All Trades” on the Chillcoots team. He primarily enjoys carpentry.
Hidden Talents: Sometimes cooking. Sometimes eating.
MIKE BORN
Years with Chillcoots: 12
Particular Skills: He does everything. He’s experienced in all phases of construction.
Hidden Talents: Did you know he’s a banjo extraordinaire?
JUSTIN ANDERSON

Particular Skills: Justin has strong computer and client communication skills. He teases that he’s a good interpreter for the project manager to the rest of the crew.
Hidden Talents: He’s looking to be outside exploring new areas, preferably on two wheels.
BROC RIDENHAOUR
Years with Chillcoots: 2
Particular Skills: Taking… his…. time. Broc’s attention to detail on the job pays off with work well done.
Hidden Talents: He enjoys anything on two wheels – bikes, dirt bikes, you name it. Also, he can do a variety of hammer tricks.
TURNER BJERKEN

Particular Skills: He enjoys learning carpentry and other skills that he can use in his future. He also enjoys activities in Grand County, where he was born and raised.
Hidden Talents: Turner is a great, multi-sport athlete.

Particular Skills: Attention to detail with an eye for siding and finish carpentry are Cajun’s talents.
Hidden Talents: Believe it or not, Cajun is a self proclaimed world famous karaoke singer. Favorite songs are anything Snoop Dog.

Particular Skills: Working behind the scenes to help ensure the business runs smoothly, Nancy is Mark’s wife and has been a part of Chillcoots’ management since its inception.
Hidden Talents: Nancy absolutely loves to travel!
CYNTHIA BRADLEY

Particular Skills: Cynthia is invaluable to Chillcoots as she handles the bookkeeping services and general inquiries for the company.
Hidden Talents: She is an avid gardener (which is definitely tricky in the high-country) and enjoys baking.
